Several major religions have enriched the scenario of Indian civilization. Jainism has given us the message of non-violence. It was born in the heart –land of India but its influence pervaded all parts of the country. The great Jain temples and sculptured monuments of Karnataka, Maharastra and Rajasthan are world-renowned. The contribution of Jain art to the main stream of art in India has been considerable. Every phase of Indian art is represented by a Jain version and each one of them is worthy of meticulous study and understanding. The range is wide, the charm is inviting, the study revealing.

In this page we will take you to different Jain sites showing the beauty and marvel of this stream of art in India. Dr. Lavanya had a plan to work on this aspect of Indian art also. She covered Deogarh (Lalitpur, U.P.), Ellora,  Badami, Aihole etc . So let’s start with Deogarh’s beauty and few more very important landmarks in Jain Art.
